Solar Blessing is one of those quirky Konami games that becomes a lot of fun to play over time. Its core feature has the potential for some sizable wins, and it is amplified in the free games. Best of all the feature is connected to stacked wilds, which means wilds are regular and plentiful.
To offset it, the game pays less for 3 and 4 of a kinds. Poker symbols only pay at 4 of a kind or greater, while the more premium symbols pay 1-2 credits per line for 3 of a kind, and jump at 4 of a kind (10-15 credits per line) and again at 5 of a kind (90-150 credits per 5 of a kind).
This tends to make the game play a bit differently than many; the wilds take on a more important role as where much of the pays are derived. Furthermore, the feature tends to be where a lot of the potential lies, outside of getting 5 of a kinds from a mix of wilds and symbols that line up.
The feature and free games though have a lot of potential accordingly, and also tend to be straightforward.
Free Game Feature
The number of free spins you get is based on the number of symbols triggered:
- 3 bonus symbols: 8 free games
- 4 bonus symbols: 12 free games
- 5 bonus symbols: 20 free games
Retriggering the bonus is possible, yielding the same number of spins for the number of symbols landed as the initial bonus.
Repeat Feature
The Repeat Feature happens when the wild sun symbol fills reels 2, 3 and 4. All reels are respun to the same position they initially landed, and the pay repeated. It can be respun up to a maximum of 10 spins. In effect this feature works similarly to a multiplier with a guaranteed 4 of a kind on every reel, between 2 and 10x your initial hit.
These four of a kinds can be important in part because of that factor that the poker symbols only pay four and five of a kind.
The Repeat Feature can occur during the base game and in the free spins. In the free games the number of sun symbols on the middle reels are increased, boosting the odds it happens, similar to other Konami games with features where the chances improve during the bonus.
