This year has been full of great opportunities to participate in the community, and one of the most recent was to join Linda and Mike of Everithing Slots!, a reboot of a channel by casino tech and slot company Everi has on YouTube.
The channel is currently featuring some introductory videos of some of the participants ahead of a more complete launch later this spring, and as part of the introduction series I was featured.
Like my conversation on The Bettor Life podcast, this conversation spoke a bit more to why I do this and how I got started, for those who are interested in what drew me to write about slots and casinos as consistently and as long as I have.
We also talked a bit about what I see are trends in the slot industry, which I said three things I had noticed are:
- If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em: Manufacturers developing “their” version of a game, like a Link format or a Wild Wild format
- Brand extensions and licensed IP: Familiar brands, either already on casino floors or in other forms of entertainment, for a more likely chance to find an audience, such as 5 Treasures Golden Door
- Swing for the fences: Games trying extremely different new things, like Lightning Zap or Crush Conquest
We’ll be working together on content going forward as they bring the channel up to a full-time series, and I’m looking forward to sharing more great information on future videos!
However, if you haven’t familiarized yourself with the previous content on the channel, they produced some really interesting videos during their first go around on YouTube that featured some interesting behind the scenes looks and other conversations also worth checking out.
